Anna is a teenage vegan food blogger from Hamburg, Germany. She loves to create plant-based for her little community and shows that you can make your dreams come true, you just need to believe in yourself!
Tell us a bit about yourself!
I´m Anna, 17 years old and from Hamburg, Germany. I'm lucky to live on an old farm with lots of happy animals, who are also my best friends. I started eating a plant-based diet to save the environment and the animals. I realised that I could never eat one of my chickens or one of my little cute lambs, so I decided to stop consuming dairy products and eating meat and fish.
When did you start food blogging on Instagram and what inspired you to start?
I started my food blog one year ago, and it was one of my best decisions because it helps me to enjoy my meals again.
What are the biggest challenges and greatest rewards of being a food/lifestyle blogger?
It's hard because as you already know- there are quite a lot food bloggers on Instagram and to be honest, it´s very hard to get new followers. But personally I don't think you need to have the most followers, I just love to have such a great community. That´s the best on being a blogger, you are connected with people around the entire world- people who have the same problems, people who enjoy plant-based food, people like me and you.
You are such a positive advocate for plant-based living. What led you to this lifestyle choice?
Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, there was a time when I´d like to skip meals and the struggle was real, but then I saw the good side of Instagram, i saw all of the vegan bloggers and everything changed. The plant-based diet makes me feel alive again and gives me a lot of energy and power.
Where do you get your recipe inspiration from?
I love to look into my little garden with my homegrown vegetables and fruits and then I like to create something new. But I also enjoy looking at some of my best food blogger friends pages, for example, @miss.carokaffe, @miss_gruenkern or @xanjuschx.
What are some things you like to do in your spare time?
That´s a good question! I like to do yoga or spend time at the gym and exercise with my friends. I am always busy, so I really love yoga to relax and let loose.
If you could live off one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That´s easy: Buddha bowls – who agrees?
You serve up some pretty amazing dishes in our Coconut Bowls! What has been your favourite so far?
You make me blush, thanks a lot! My favourite dish was definitely my home-made curry – you can find my easy and delicious recipe in the cookbook!
What is your favourite thing about your coconut bowls?
Everyone is thinking that the bowls are just pretty- but that´s not the only thing! The bowls are eco-friendly and every coconut bowl is unique with its own shape, size, marking and imperfections and that´s my favourite thing about my coconut bowl.
We are so excited to have one of your recipes included in our new cookbook ‘Vegan Bowls for Vegan Souls’. Tell us about the recipe you chose and what it means for you to be apart of the book?
That's easy! I chose my all time favourite recipe: my vegan curry. I´m a big fan of Indian food, so I created a spicy coconut curry which is perfect for cosy cold days. I knew a lot of Indian recipes, but they´re often very complicated and everything must be prepared the day before. So I fell in love with my recipe: it´s so yummy, plant-based and easy to make! It means a lot to me to be a part of the cookbook, because as you may know I´m just a little, young blogger from Germany and I never thought that many people noticed my page. The other authors are so kind and also the team from Coconut Bowls, I´m so happy to be a part of the great project and the Coconut Bowl family!
